【摘要】:ThispartofISO3534definesappliedstatisticsterms,andexpressestheminaconceptualframeworkinaccordancewithISOnormativeterminologypractice.Termentriesarearrangedthematically.Analphabeticalindexisprovided.Standardizedsymbolsandabbreviationsaredefined.Ithasbeenrecognizedthattheacceptanceofappliedstatisticsasameanstoimprovingtheeffectivenessandefficiencyoforganizationshasbeenhamperedbythecomplexityandconfusionintroducedbyconflictingdesignationandusageofterms,definitions,abbreviationsandsymbols.ThetwoprincipalpurposesofthispartofISO3534are,specifically,toestablishacommonvocabularyforusethroughoutISO/TC69standards,togetherwiththebroaderintenttoenhancethepreciseness,clarityandcohesivenessintheusage/applicationofappliedstatisticsgenerally.Themathematicallevelhasdeliberatelybeenkepttoalowlevelinorderforthecontenttobemadereadilycomprehensibletothewidestpossiblereadership.ISO3534-1andISO3534-2areintendedtobecompatible.However,ISO3534-1,ontermsusedinprobabilityandstatistics,isfoundational;so,bynecessity,itispresentedatamoresophisticatedmathematicallevelthanISO3534-2.AsusersofthispartofISO3534onappliedstatisticsmayoccasionallyconsultISO3534-1forcertainterms,copiousnotesandexamplesinISO3534-1followselectedtermsprovidingcolloquialexplanationsofformalterms.
