【摘要】:TheU.S.EnvironmentalProtectionAgencyRegulations,40CFR,requirethatboilers,cementkilns,andotherindustrialfurnacesutilizingwaste-derivedfueladheretospecificguidelinesinassessingpotentialmetalsemissions.Acommonapproachforestimatingpotentialemissionsisperformingtotalmetalsanalysisonallfeedstreammaterials.Thispracticedescribesamulti-stagemicrowave-assisteddigestionprocedurethatsolubilizestraceelementsforspectroscopicanalyses.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthebiodegradationpropertiesofamaterialbyreproduciblyexposingmaterialstoconditionstypicalofmunicipalsolidwaste(MSW)composting.Amaterialiscompostedundercontrolledconditionsusingasyntheticcompostmatrixanddeterminingtheacclimationtime,cumulativeoxygenuptake,cumulativecarbondioxideproduction,andpercentoftheoreticalbiodegradationovertheperiodofthetest.Thistestmethoddoesnotestablishthesuitabilityofthecompostedproductforanyuse.1.2Thevaluesstatedinbothinch-poundandSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
