【摘要】:Meltingpoint(coolingcurve)isatestthatiswidelyusedbywaxsuppliersandconsumers.itisparticularlyappliedtopetroleumwaxesthatareratherhighlyparaffinicorcrystallineinnature.Aplateauoccurswithspecimenscontainingappreciableamountsofhydrocarbonsthatcrystallizeatthesametemperature,givingupheatoffusion,thustemporarilyretardingthecoolingrate.Ingeneral,petroleumwaxeswithlargeamountsofnon-normalhydrocarbonsorwithamorphoussolidformswillnotexhibitaplateau.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthemeltingpoint(coolingcurve)ofpetroleumwax.Itisunsuitableforwaxesofthepetrolatumgroup,microcrystallinewaxes,orblendsofsuchwaxeswithparaffinwaxorscalewax.Note18212;Foradditionalmethodsusedfortestingpetroleumwaxes,seeTestMethodD127andTestMethodD938.Resultsmaydiffer,dependingonthemethodused.Forpharmaceuticalpetrolatum,TestMethodD127usuallyisused.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
