【摘要】:Dataatground-watersitesaregatheredformanypurposes.Eachofthesepurposesgenerallyrequiresaspecificsetofdataelements.Forexample,whentheground-waterqualityisofconcernnotonlyarethex2018;minimumsetofdataelementsx2019;requiredforthesite,butinformationconcerningthesamplecollectiondepthinterval,methodofcollection,anddateandtimeofcollectionareneededtofullyqualifythedata.Anothergroupofelementsarerecommendedforeachuseofthedata,suchasaquifercharacteristicsorwater-levelrecords.Normallythemoreinformationthatisgatheredaboutasitebyfieldpersonnel,theeasieritistounderstandtheground-waterconditionsandtoreachvalidconclusionsandinterpretationsregardingthesite.ThedataelementslistedinthisguideandGuidesD5408andD5410shouldassistinplanningwhatinformationcanbegatheredforaground-watersiteandhowtodocumentthesedata.Note68212;Someimportantdataelementsmaychangeduringtheexistenceofasite.Forexample,theelevationofthemeasuringpointusedforthemeasurementofwaterlevelsmaybemodifiedbecauseofrepairorreplacementofequipment.Thisfrequentlyoccurswhenthemeasuringpointisanopeninginthepumpandthepumpismodifiedorreplaced.Becausechangescannotalwaysbeanticipated,itispreferabletoreferencetheheightofthemeasuringpointtoapermanentnearbyaltitudedatum.Themeasuringpointisreferencedbybeingthesamealtitude(zerocorrection)orabove(negativecorrection)orbelow(pluscorrection)thealtitudedatum.Allappropriatemeasurementsshouldbecorrectedinreferencetothealtitudedatumbeforeentryintothepermanentrecord.Caremustbeexercisedtokeeptherelationshipofthesedataelementsconsistentthroughoutthedurationofthesite.Somedataelementshaveanextensivelistofcomponentsorpossibleentries.Forexample,theaquiferidentificationlistdescribedin6.1.8hasover5000entries.Lengthylistsofpossibleentriesarenotincludedinthisguide,however,informationonwheretoobtainthesecomponentsisincludedwiththespecificdataelement.Note78212;Thisguideidentifiesothersources,lists,etc.,ofinformationrequiredtocompletelydocumentinformationaboutanyground-watersite.1.1ThisguidecoversPartTwoofthreeguidestobeusedinconjunctionwithPracticeD5254thatdelineatesthedatadesirabletodescribeaground-waterdatacollectionorsamplingsite.Thisguideidentifiesphysicaldescriptors,suchasconstructionandgeologicelements,forasite.PartOne(GuideD5408)describesadditionalinformationbeyondtheminimumsetofdataelementsthatmaybespecifiedtoidentifyanyindividualground-watersite,whilePartThreeidentifiesusagedescriptors,suchasmonitoring,foranindividualground-watersite.Note18212;Aground-watersiteisdefinedasanysource,location,orsamplingstationcapableofproducingwaterorhydrologicdatafromanaturalstratumfrombelowthesurfaceoftheearth.Asourceorfacilitycanincludeawell,springorseep,anddrainortunnel(nearlyhorizontalinorientation).Othersources,suchasexcavations,drivendevices,boreholes,ponds,lakes,andsinkholes,thatcanbeshowntobehydrau......
