【摘要】:ThispartofISO/IEC8859specifiesasetof155codedgraphiccharactersidentifiedasLatin/Hebrewalphabet.Thissetofcodedgraphiccharactersisintendedforuseindataandtextprocessingapplicationsandalsoforinformationinterchange.Thesetcontainsgraphiccharactersusedforgeneralpurposeapplicationsintypicalofficeenvironmentsinatleastthefollowinglanguages:English,Hebrew,Latin.ItisnotintendedforpointedHebrew.Thissetofcodedgraphiccharactersmayberegardedasaversionofan8-bitcodeaccordingtoISO/IEC2022orISO/IEC4873atlevel1.ThispartofISO/IEC8859maynotbeusedinconjunctionwithanyotherpartsofISO/IEC8859.Ifcodedcharactersfrommorethanonepartaretobeusedtogether,bymeansofcodeextensiontechniques,theequivalentcodedcharactersetsfromISO/IEC10367shouldbeusedinsteadwithinaversionofISO/IEC4873atlevel2orlevel3.ThecodedcharactersinthissetmaybeusedinconjunctionwithcodedcontrolfunctionsselectedfromISO/IEC6429.However,controlfunctionsarenotusedtocreatecompositegraphicsymbolsfromtwoormoregraphiccharacters(seeclause6).NOTE-ISO/IEC8859isnotintendedforusewithTelematicservicesdefinedbyITU-T.IfinformationcodedaccordingtoISO/IEC8859istobetransferredtosuchservices,itwillhavetoconformtotherequirementsofthoseservicesattheaccess-point.
