【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodemploysaside-grooved,crack-line-wedge-loadedspecimentoobtainarapidrun-arrestsegmentofflat-tensileseparationwithanearlystraightcrackfront.Thistestmethodprovidesastaticanalysisdeterminationofthestressintensityfactoratashorttimeaftercrackarrest.TheestimateisdenotedKa.Whencertainsizerequirementsaremet,thetestresultprovidesanestimate,termedKIa,oftheplane-straincrack-arresttoughnessofthematerial.1.2Thespecimensizerequirements,discussedlater,provideforin-planedimensionslargeenoughtoallowthespecimentobemodeledbylinearelasticanalysis.Forconditionsofplane-strain,aminimumspecimenthicknessisalsorequired.Bothrequirementsdependuponthecrackarresttoughnessandtheyieldstrengthofthematerial.Arangeofspecimensizesmaythereforebeneeded,asspecifiedinthistestmethod.1.3Ifthespecimendoesnotexhibitrapidcrackpropagationandarrest,Kacannotbedetermined.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandards.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
