【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoversseamlessandweldedhigh-strengthlow-alloysteelpipeNPS1/2toNPS26,inclusive.Pipehavingotherdimensionsmaybefurnishedprovidedsuchpipecomplieswithallotherrequirementsofthisspecification.Thismaterialisintendedforpressurepipingservice,andothergeneralpurposes,wheresavingsinweightoraddeddurabilityareimportant.Note18212;ThedimensionlessdesignatorNPS(nominalpipesize)hasbeensubstitutedinthisstandardforsuchtraditionaltermsas"nominaldiameter,""size,"and"nominalsize."Note28212;AcomprehensivelistingofstandardizedpipedimensionsiscontainedinANSIStandardB36.10.1.2Class8212;Thesehigh-strengthlow-alloysteelshaveenhancedresistancetogeneralatmosphericcorrosionbyweatheringascommonlyencounteredinrural,urban,marine,andindustrialenvironments.Theyaresuppliedintwoclasses:Class2,havingcorrosionresistanceequivalenttothatofcarbonsteelwithcopper(0.20minimumCu);andClass4,havingcorrosionresistancesubstantiallybetterthanthatofClass2(Note3).Class4steelswhenproperlyexposedtotheatmospherecanbeusedbare(unpainted)formanyapplications.Note38212;FormethodsofestimatingtheatmosphericcorrosionresistanceoflowalloysteelsseeGuideG101oractualdata.1.3Type8212;Pipemaybefurnishedinthefollowingtypesofmanufacturingprocesses:TypeF8212;Furnace-buttwelded,continuouswelded,TypeE8212;Electric-resistancewelded,andTypeS8212;Seamless.1.3.1Pipeorderedunderthisspecificationissuitableforwelding.1.3.2TypeEpipemaybefurnishedeithernonexpandedorcold-expandedattheoptionofthemanufacturer.1.3.3TypesF,E,andSpipearecommonlyfurnishedinnonheat-treatedcondition.TypeSpipemaybefurnishedinnormalized(orother)heat-treatedcondition,whensospecified.1.3.4TypesF,E,andSpipeinsinglerandomlengthsmaybefurnishedwithhot-dippedgalvanizedcoatingofzinc,subjecttoinquirytotheproducer.1.3.5Couplings,whenfurnished,shallbeofthesameclass,heat-treatedcondition,andgradeofmaterialasthepipeordered.1.4Grade8212;Thisspecificationdesignateseightgradesofsteelcompositionaslistedinandcorrespondingtensilerequirementsforthegradesaslistedin.1.4.1ForClass2pipe,GradeI,II,orIIIshallbespecified,andcopper-bearingsteelisrequiredasspecifiedin.1.4.2ForClass4pipe,GradeIV,V,VI,VII,orVIIIshallbespecified.Alternatively,forClass4,TypeS,andTypeEpipe,asteelcompositioncorrespondingtoagradelistedinofSpecificationA588/A588Mmaybespecified,subjecttonegotiation.1.5WhenClass4pipeisjoinedbyweldingorisusedinweldedconstruction,theuseriscautionedthattheselectionofweldingprocedureandresultantcompositionoffusedmetalshouldbesuitableforClass4materialandtheintendedservice.1.6Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.
