【摘要】:Testsconductedinaccordancewiththispracticeareusedtoevaluatethestabilityofplasticmaterialswhentheyareexposedoutdoors.Therelativedurabilityofplasticsinoutdoorusecanbeverydifferentdependingonthelocationoftheexposurebecauseofdifferencesinultraviolet(UV)radiation,timeofwetness,temperature,pollutants,andotherfactors.Itcannotbeassumed,therefore,thatresultsfromoneexposureinasinglelocationwillbeusefulfordeterminingrelativedurabilityinadifferentlocation.Exposuresinseverallocationswithdifferentclimatesthatrepresentabroadrangeofanticipatedserviceconditionsarerecommended.4.1.1Becauseofyear-to-yearclimatologicalvariations,resultsfromasingleexposuretestcannotbeusedtopredicttheabsoluterateatwhichamaterialdegrades.Severalyearsofrepeatexposuresareneededtogetanaveragetestresultforagivenlocation.Theresultsofshort-termexposuretestscanprovideanindicationofrelativeoutdoorperformance,buttheyshouldnotbeusedtopredicttheabsolutelong-termperformanceofamaterial.Theresultsoftestsconductedforlessthantwelvemonthswilldependontheparticularseasonoftheyearinwhichtheybegin.1.1Thispracticeisintendedtocoverproceduresfortheexposureofplasticmaterialstoweather.Note1SeePracticeG24foragingunderglass.1.2Thispracticeislimitedtothemethodbywhichthematerialistobeexposedandthegeneralproceduretobefollowed.Itisintendedforusewithfinishedarticlesofcommerceaswellaswithallsizesandshapesoftestspecimens.1.3Meansofevaluationoftheeffectsofweatheringwilldependontheintendeduseforthetestmaterial.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.ThisstandardandISO877.2-1991,MethodA,aretechnicallyequivalent.
